Very sad to read the news. The govt. officials are helpless. Who invested on the project wants money. They do not care, and they will be very happy if they read this news. Indirectly govt. officials claiming that these business mans are powerful. Very very sad.

For every problem there is a solution. There cannot be helplessness in the problem of UPCL, at Nagarjuna projectat Padubidri, Udupi district. If the well water is polluted drinking water could be arranged from cetain distant river. Until then arrangefor by Water tanks and have distributions to families at certain fixed Centers. The problem must be tackled on War footing and inductry must survive for providing power supply. all other steps including protests must be called off and the investment must give fruits. The Nation must run and not filling of bellys of the Politicians and the socalled environmentalists. This project was being discussed and many a leaders after receiving suitcases/kickbacks , stopped commenting.

UPCL is not above the law and popular demand. It has the responsibility to fulfill it's obligation towards general public as the issue is serious environmental health related .If officials and people's representative not able to bring UPCL to it's contractual commitment then who else would the job done.People's Representative must get together sans party lines and pressure UPCL and govt to oblige what general public need to or else better to quit as People's representatives.
