Kundapur, May 27: It seems the inconvenience caused to public due to the NH repair work is never ending in the city. The slab of the drainage work which was done just four months ago is broken now.

The slab of the underground drainage that was laid between Shastri Circle and service road is broken. Though weeks have passed, no one is taking action to set it right. The broken slab has made a big gap which is dangerous for pedestrians.

Within three months, the slab is broken and the public is cursing the concerned department for the shoddy work that was done. Neither Navayuga nor municipality has taken any corrective action. The monsoon is round the corner and the underground drainage will get filled and water will flow on the road.

The slab at one end of the road was broken a month ago. One more which is a little distance away is also broken since a week. Local goods vehicle owners have kept a barricade around it to alert the public and two wheelers.

The quality of the concrete slab is so poor that sand and asphalt is getting separated when the slab is broken. It seems that the curing of slabs was not executed properly.

Prakash, local goods vehicle driver, says, “Though the underground drainage cover slab is broken since few weeks, none of the highway authorities or the municipality people have taken any action. This is causing grave danger to two wheeler and pedestrians. This should be set right immediately.”
