Sri Gopalakrishna Yakshagana Puppet Troupe Shines on 'India's Got Talent'

Kasargod, Jul 15: It was a proud moment for the region when 'Narakasura Vadhe', a Yakshagana play staged by city's Sri Gopalakrishna Yakshagana Bombeyata Sangha in Colors channel's 'India's Got Talent', earned accolades from the jurors.
Over 120 teams participated in the talent programme held at Kalidas Natya Mandir in the central suburb of Mulund, Mumbai. The Sangha director and chief artiste K V Ramesh and troupe enthralled the spectators with their puppet show based on a mythological episode.
Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra, celebrities Sonali Bendre and Kirron Kher congratulated the group on their marvellous performance.
The Sangha has been invited by Colors TV to participate in the talent contest scheduled to be held at New Delhi in August.
Karnataka Rajyotsav Award recipient K V Ramesh led the troupe along with Dr Om Prakash K V, Sudarshan K V, Kumaraswamy, and Chandrashekar.
"The puppet show of Kannada culture is indeed a great form of art, beyond imagination," exclaimed Dharmendra. He also congratulated K V Ramesh and group in Hindi, English, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, and Tulu languages.
Bollywood celebrity Sonali Bendre lauded the puppet show and the symphony of dance. Kirron Kher showered positive comments on the show that was superb in her opinion.
