Mangalore: Sahaya TV Goes 24x7, Aims to Transform Society

‘Sahaya TV’ which was launched with the objective of focussing on issues relating to the lower strata of society, has now become a 24x7 channel.

At a programme held at Hotel Motimahal on Friday July 15 to mark the occasion, P B Harish Rai, president of DK Journalists’ Union said that in this ‘fast moving world’ news and information must reach the public at breakneck speeds and accuracy.

He added that media has lost its credibility in recent days and wished it to be regained. He wished all success for the newly-relaunched TV channel.

Sahaya TV will now be a 24/7 channel and according to the Sahaya team, it not only aims at income, but also at helping the poor and uplifting them. The cable channel will host live debate programmes with people representatives, interviews with artistes, a comedy show in Tulu ‘onthe telipuga’, programme about holy places ‘Jagajjothi’, programmes for women and kids, movies, songs and documentaries focusing on social development including programmes in Kannada, Tulu and English languages.

The channel will function from its office located at ‘Shree Laxmi Kripa’ building in Pandeshwar.
 
A J Shetty, chairman Sahaya TV presided. Prakash Pandeshwar, Sadashiva Das, MD, Sahaya TV, Suresh Kottari, PRO, Sahaya TV, Ganesh Gatty, Ashraf, Arun Shetty, Noor Nawaz among others were present.
