Udupi, May 30: MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary stated that all the promises made by the present Karnataka government under the guarantee card scheme must be issued as soon as possible. “It is the duty of chief minister Siddaramaiah and deputy chief minister D K Shivakumar to answer the questions regarding the guarantee card. Instead of answering whether they can implement the entire guarantee they are raising the issue of whether the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given Rs 15 lac to the people as he promised. The Prime Minister only said that if we bring black money then we can give Rs 15 lac to every individual in India.”
Addressing reporters here, Kota Srinivas Poojary urged the Congress government to implement all the guarantees as promised by them. “Instead of implementing the promises they made, they are pointing towards the BJP, I strictly condemn and oppose this. Now the central government is giving 5 kilos of rice to everyone. As Congress said that they will give 10 kilos of rice to the beneficiaries they intended to provide all the 10 kg of rice and not merge their scheme with the central government scheme. Failing to provide the promises made will not bring good to the state government. As you promised from June 1, there is no need to pay electricity bills. If you fail, then we, the opposition party members will stand in support of the public.”
Responding to the government’s thoughts on the hijab ban, and textbook revision, Kota said, “Hijab case is subjudice in the Supreme Court. Once the court gives the judgment no one can change it. The other issue is Tipu Sultan's birthday must be celebrated as Tipu Jayanthi. The Congress supporters sold beef before Town hall in Bengaluru and are harming the Gomata worshippers. If the state Government listens to such people then they will definitely invite some problems. The Bharatiya Janata party will always bring about awareness among the people regarding matters relating to Tipu Jayanthi, protection of cows, and religious conversions. Already some changes have been made in school textbooks. If they again want to make some changes then let them be sure of what changes they want to make. As CM Siddaramaiah has experience in presenting the budget he must fulfill the promise of free government bus travel to women and other promises or else we, the Bharatiya Janata Party will stand in support of people if they raise voice against it.”
