Bengaluru, May 30: JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy has asked the Siddaramaiah government to implement the Congress party’s 5 poll guarantees and said it is the responsibility of the new government.
The former chief minister took exception to some Congress legislators targeting him for reminding the ruling party about its 5 guarantees and said the Congress leaders should not forget that the people have the Congress Guarantee Cards jointly signed by Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar.
“What is the point of these Congress guarantees signed by the present chief minister and deputy chief minister? Are those cards worthless,’’ he asked.
Kumaraswamy attacked the government for dilly-dallying on the implementation of the guarantees and said people will not forget the guarantees.
The JD(S) leader demanded that the Chief Minister must issue full page newspaper advertisements affirming the government’s commitment to implement the guarantees with effect from June 1 without attaching any conditions.
