Mangalore: Accused in Ganjimutt Molestation Azharuddin (18) Attempt Arrested

Mangalore, Jul 16: Bajpe police on Friday July 15 made a headway into the case of alleged molesation of a housewife at Ganjimutt on Thursday July 14, with the arrest of Azharuddin, the accused.
18-year-old Azharuddin, also of Ganjimutt, was accused of trying to molest his neighbour and hurting her. On July 14, he went to her house on the pretext of asking for some vegetables and then asked her about her baby. When she turned to fetch the child, he allegedly attacked her from behind and bashed her head against the wall when she struggled.
Soon after the incident, Azharuddin fled the place and police launched a search. He was believed to have been taking refuge in Kukkatte, but could not be located.
Police said that Azharuddin later re-entered his house through the roof, had a change of clothes and then proceeded towards Kuppepadavu.
On Friday he was found near a shop in Padrengi in Yedapadavu, from where he was arrested.
The police team was led by ACP Puttamadhaiah, Panambur circle inspector Valentine D'Souza and Bajpe SI Anant Murdeshwar under the guidance of police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh and DCPs Mutturaya and Dharmaiah.
