Mangalore: Accused in Ganjimutt Molestation Azharuddin (18) Attempt Arrested

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, Jul 16: Bajpe police on Friday July 15 made a headway into the case of alleged molesation of a housewife at Ganjimutt on Thursday July 14, with the arrest of Azharuddin, the accused.

18-year-old Azharuddin, also of Ganjimutt, was accused of trying to molest his neighbour and hurting her. On July 14, he went to her house on the pretext of asking for some vegetables and then asked her about her baby. When she turned to fetch the child, he allegedly attacked her from behind and bashed her head against the wall when she struggled.

Soon after the incident, Azharuddin fled the place and police launched a search. He was believed to have been taking refuge in Kukkatte, but could not be located.

Police said that Azharuddin later re-entered his house through the roof, had a change of clothes and then proceeded towards Kuppepadavu.

On Friday he was found near a shop in Padrengi in Yedapadavu, from where he was arrested.

The police team was led by ACP Puttamadhaiah, Panambur circle inspector Valentine D'Souza and Bajpe SI Anant Murdeshwar under the guidance of police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh and DCPs Mutturaya and Dharmaiah.

"Lawrence Saldanha will you say the same thing is a loved one of yours is attacked similarly...God forbid..."

Dear friend, we are living in the real world where weeds are allowed to grow with wheat. We should not waste our time asking hypothetical questions but should attempt to find lasting solutions to the problem. Whether such a thing should happen to my dear ones will largely depend on myself and my God but how I should handle it if it happens will be directed by my wisdom of righteousness at that point in time guided by my spiritual upbringing. What I know for sure is that love and compassion defeats hatred and revenge. God bless us all.

    Suman,
What do you mean by adult entertainment in a developed country? whatever in developed country, India is following it like a baby and it's goes out of control most of the time, coz majority of them are animals. On valentines day we cannot see a ugly scene out here, where as India has highest rapes on that day that too on moving vehicle. You can find all adult entertainment where you now residing, like kamatipura in Bombay, kamasutra, devadasi, prostitution, father is raping his daughter so on & on. Don't point finger on other country when so much going on in India.

All of us have grown up in the same way and none of us have tried to force ourselves on others. It is an insult to all men to think so.

Maximum punishment ? - is not the solution. I agree guilty person needs to be punished. What caused the boy at the age 18 to do such things? Is he mentally fit? he needs to go to rehab, where they can correct him. after his sentense, atleast he can lead a normal life.

Suman, Dubai-You are not right. This crime you are talking about happend just in a town Managalore and not a International City. In you openion, what you think "should there be any Suepr market of Prostitutes opened in mangalore?" so that phsyco like Azharuddin can release his heat?. He need not be so desperate so soon he is just 18 and has long future so he can get married if he move in a postive path in his life. He need not to behave like this in the same location where he is brought up, where his own sisters, mother can reside. Some should have society manners thats all. The cops have done an excellant job and set an example here.... I think Azhar should be shifted to a red light areas in some metro politan cities in the country so he can get ready what he wants.......

You are right Pai. These are never ending until we have open society whether there is some flexibility for adult entertainment like any other developed countries. I dont think anyone has achieved anything on this whole episode. Police should go after and catch those who bombed recently in Mumbai...

    Dear friends,

Besides the other side of the story which is yet to be revealed, the tender age of 18 is the peak of urge for sex for any human being. In a purely biological perspective, it generally has the tendency to advance towards a prey in the neighborhood and if the prey is seemingly or otherwise receptive, the undesired can happen as in this case. While the victim deserves due sympathy, the culprit need to be punished and counseled in due consideration of his tender age, family background, past record and the actual circumstances regardless of other angles projected by the media and other free lance judges.
