Shivamogga, Jun 2: Aditya Rao, who is convicted in the airport bombing case, smashed two television sets in the Shivamogga central jail where he is serving 20 years of prison sentence.

On May 31, Aditya, convicted prisoner in Shivamogga central jail, had come to the video conference room of the prison. He asked the jail officials whether there is inquiry of him in connection with his case. The staff said no. Aditya who walked to a little distance, suddenly hit the TV of VC room and damaged it. The staff in the VC room caught hold of Aditya. However, he escaped from them and broke one more television. He was immediately caught and handed over to the jailor. A case in this connection is filed in Tunga Nagar police station.

It may be recalled, Aditya had placed a bag with a bomb at the Mangaluru International Airport in January 2022. After two days, he went and surrendered to Bengaluru police. Later, inquiry was conducted at Mangaluru court and he was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Aditya Rao had also made hoax bomb calls to international airport and railway stations of Bengaluru earlier. He served prison sentence in those cases also.
