Mangaluru, Jun 4: Hindu activist Arun Kumar Puthila has warned the elected representative of Ullal constituency, who is seen as anti-Hindu, against using the police force as his puppet and that the Hindu society will challenge any such move in the coming days.
Speaking at a function held here at Kapikadu Gatti Samaja Bhavana under the auspices of Hindu society, he said it is the responsibility of the local MLA to ensure that peace and harmony prevails without giving room for hatred. He said the Hindu society has been respectful towards the police which has been friendly towards citizens and warned against disturbing the peace.
He said a case of love jihad was reported at Someshwara Beach and Hindu activists have shed tears as false cases have been registered against the individual for the sake of power. He said he is opposed to using women as objects of fun and frolic as has been expressed by the activists.
"It is our right to oppose such wrong doings and it is not possible for the Hindu society to bear such acts,” he said.
He said that people of Ullal and Puttur have elected those who are opposed to Hindutva.
Rajashekar, a close confidant of Puthila said there is no leadership for religion adding that people who are raising their voice for religion are being stifled and sent to jail all over the district. Puthila had polled 63,000 votes and won the popular support of the Hindus after working for 30 years towards the Hindutva cause.
Industrialist Kiran Dharmasthala, lawyer and National Human Rights Commission member Shivanand Vitla, Jayanth Kapikad of Hindu Yuvasene, Gatti Samaja president Dayanand Pilikooru and convener Mithesh Poojary were also present.
