Mangaluru, Jun 5: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that the second phase of the plastic park project that is constructed in Ganjimath will be completed by the end of 2023.
Nalin visited the plastic park area and inspected the various works in progress. Speaking to reporters, he said, “This project is going to be implemented on 104.28 acres of land that is handed over by KIADB. 39 industries have shown interest to start their factories here. Due to this project 1000 people will get direct employment and 10000 people will get indirect employment.
“Union government and KIADB have invested Rs 31.38 crore each in the past three years. CIPET college, separate laboratory and warehouse will be constructed at a cost of Rs 19.93 crore.
“The second phase work of concrete roads, underground drainage and water supply pipe laying work began on November 25, 2022 and is going to end on October 24, 2023,” he said.
Mohammed Nazeer, president of Canara Plastic Association, said, “Rs 1.12 crore is specified per acre for industries in this park. This needs to be reduced to Rs 50 lac.”
