IndiGo to Launch Dubai-Mumbai Flights from Sep 1

Daijiworld Media Network - Dubai

Dubai, Jul 18: India's fastest growing budget airline IndiGo is set to launch its maiden international flight from September 1 this year. With a promotional fair of AED 816, including tax, it is a bonanza for passengers, a source close to IndiGo told Daijiworld in Dubai.

A successful domestic airline, IndGo had been waiting for the completion of five years of its domestic operations to get approval to fly international. Launched in the year 2006, IndGo is well-connected to almost all metros and other important cities.

Apart from Dubai-Mumbai sector, IndGo also announced the launch of Dubai-Delhi, and flights to Bangkok and Singapore Indian metros.

The daily flight departs Dubai at 10.15 pm, arriving in the Indian capital at 3.10 am.

The daily flight departs Dubai at 8.25 pm (except Thursdays) and arrives in Mumbai at 1.10 am. The flight on Thursday departs at 7.55 pm.

Tickets are already on sale through the airline’s website.

Aditya Ghosh, president of IndiGo says, "We wish to thank our customers for their enduring trust and support and are extremely excited about the upcoming international launch. IndiGo will keep its promise of providing low fares on international routes as well.

We hope that IndiGo will be able to provide the much needed avenue for countless Indians to explore wider horizons and at the same time open up the doors to more and more overseas travellers to experience India. We hope to create the same magic and success in the international market and look forward to have a great experience with our customers. It is our consistent practice to make the journey hassle free for our customers and provide them high quality experience at the best and affordable prices."

With the foray, IndiGo aims to further build on its core values of low fares, on-time performance and a hassle-free journey, which have been the key driving force behind its success in India. IndiGo marked its journey into the Indian skies in August 2006 and today, with a whooping market share of 19.7 percent, it is the second largest airlines in the country.

The airline has appointed M/S Al Rais Travel and Shipping Agencies LLC, as its general sales agent for UAE.

The official announcement will be made on July 24 during a media brief in Dubai.

    IndiGo's growth shows an open
reality that airlines in India can grow, if they give good service
at reasonable fare. While all airlines except the AI are
    gradually expanding, AI is
being choked up to extinction every
day is greatly surprising and an
eye opening lesson to be learnt
    that the passengers have good
    memory and they expect good
service from the airlines to be
    their loyal customers. All the
best wishes to expand operation to far off cities in the world.

Lucky Dubai passengers. Request IndiGO to start direct flights from Gulf countries to Mangalore / Bangalore also. Currently, only Air India Express has direct flights to Mangalore from some of the gulf countries and it is high time that more airlines start direct flights to Mangalore which will help passengers travelling to Mangalore, Udupi, Kasargod and Kerala.

Would appreciate if daijiworld could take up this request with the concerned authorities/airlines.
