Bantwal, June 7: The Kanyana road passing via Kalanjimale reserve forest, Kolnadu grama had been stinking for the last several days. Trash was being thrown on both sides of the road here everyday. Therefore, there was fear of cattle, goats, dogs and cats in the vicinity of Kudtamogeru, Mankade, Kudria and Kulai eating the trash and becoming victims of deadly diseases.
Environmentalists who were anguished by the inhuman behaviour were preparing to teach a lesson to the miscreant motorists. A local person recorded on his mobile two persons throwing stinking trash bundles from their goods tempo and fleeing in the evening on Tuesday.
A local youth, who nabbed the motorist who threw the trash as the video went viral, informed the forest department. The youth summoned the miscreants to the spot, made them load the trash bundles back into their tempos and clean the reserve forest. The forest department joined the local youth in their operation which was commended by the locals.
