Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (MS)

Puttur, Jun 11: In a late-night incident on Friday at a temple near Uppinangady, a gang of dacoits, traveling in a car, attacked a tanker driver and made off with Rs 6000 in cash.

Oscar Vincent Soans (61), a resident of Suratkal Kadambadi Mane, was the unfortunate victim of the assault. Soans sustained injuries to his hand, mouth, and eye during the attack. The assailants forcibly took the Rs 6000 cash that was in Soans' wallet.

Soans filed a complaint with the police, stating, "I was driving a tar-laden tanker from Kulur when a person alighted from a private bus and requested me to halt the tanker. Upon my refusal and subsequent attempt to continue driving, a car appeared and blocked my path. Three individuals disembarked from the car, snatched my wallet and documents from the truck, and then pulled me out of the vehicle, subjecting me to physical assault."

The police are currently conducting further investigations into the matter.
