Mostly, the riders don't follow traffic rules. If everyone follow the traffic rules, then these type of accidents can be minimised to certain extent.

In countries were there are proper rules and regulations heavy vehicles have a dedicated lane. Cars and two wheelers have another lane. High time the private bus cartel is abolished in the twin districts of DK and Udupi. The express buses from Udupi - Mangalore - Udupi are like death traps.

On expressways vehicles are meant to go on high speed. It is a tragedy that NH 66 was planned in such a way that it will pass through all the coastal towns with lots of U-turns and crossings. Now people are making not only U-turn but also drive in opposite directions. People, bicycle s, auto rickshaw, fast moving, slow moving , all sharing the same highway..This high way will continue to kill more people in future. Price to pay for greed. In a country like ours where tragedies are forgotten the very next day, and where no one is held accountable.... You read Daiji 5 years or 10 years from now, it will be the same story...

Sorry to disappoint you sir, NH66 is not a expressway. Please know the difference between expressway and highway.
