Bengaluru woman kills mother, brings body in bag to police station

Bengaluru, Jun 13 (IANS): In a shocking incident, a woman killed her mother in Bengaluru and then stuffed the body in a trolley bag and brought it to a police station, police said on Tuesday.

The accused has been identified as 39-year-old Senali Sen, a resident of NSR Green Apartments in Bilekahalli locality. She hailed from West Bengal and had resided in the flat for six years.

The victim was identified as 70-year-old Biva Pal.

According to the police, Senali lived with her mother, husband and mother-in-law in the apartment.

The victim and Senali's mother-in-law fought almost every day and at one point, Biva Pal had also threatened that she would consume sleeping pills and commit suicide.

The police added that Senali, frustrated with the daily quarrels, forcefully made her mother consume 90 sleeping pills and when the victim complained about stomach ache, she allegedly killed her by strangulating her with a dupatta.

Later, the accused had stuffed the body into a trolley bag along with the photo of her father, came straight to Mico Layout police station.

The police have arrested the accused and taken up investigation.

A tragedy which one has to empathise with the daughter No doubt killing not a solution Initially she brings her widowed mother from Calcutta. As reported and ensures as a dutiful daughter to take care alongwith now her post marriage extended family ... Two issues come up .. What was the husband doing ..so called man of the house Why the burden only on this lady who also had a child requiring special care as in another report ... Finally it is wrong to assume people get older and are more mature Some get cranky .. conspiratorial .. possibly their own difficulty But don’t play a Mature family building role ..

. Horrible, Gruesome, whichever way you look. Man caught in between - he should have sense in allowing two mothers in the same space. Now there will be two less in the apartment; he and his mother only - wife will have sanctuary in prison.

Sir, the main problem with middle class is severe economic constraints! How can a middle class family with limited resources manage to arrange separate accommodation etc for the closely related seniors? The rich have the wherewithal to manage by the power of money; but for the middle class there is absolutely no option; what say?

Tragic and horrible everything together .Three women living together ,different character ,will not go happily is we can say without any specialists.Thats so.Men may stay together without quarrel for long time ,but women ?never.Sad she offered her mother ?Or was mother dominant? One more question where is her husband ?Not living together or elsewhere? In a small house without each one going his work or freetime pass this will happen. One should always avoid to tell others what to do or question.Or timely go out when tention is there .Daughter was really under Tension and couldt bear any more and put an end in a sad way.Now daughter in law and mother i law have peace, enjoy lonelyness in their own way and own place.May her soul rest in peace of the victim.Accused one has her peace may enjoy in jail.Sad and tragic.

Consider her state of mind when she did this. Managing two quarrelling elderly ladies is really difficult. People give constant threats of suicide if things do not go their way. They do not understand the trauma that receivers of this threat go through. The lady in question must have got fed up of these threats and in anger fed sleeping pills to her own mother. This is not planned but has happened in a spur of moment,

Living with both mother and mother in law is a sure recipe for disaster. This seems to be the result of frustration built up over a period of time resulting in mental illness. IF that is the case, she needs to be evaluated for her mental health and treated rather than condemned to a jail. Many people do not understand the gravity of mental illness. She probably hated the mother in law, but could not take it out on her and ended up killing her own mother instead.

As people grow older, they tend to become senile; and again, the cycle of behaving like a child begins; if the person has dementia then it's a terrible situation! If it's a rich family, they can afford to somehow manage old people by making separate arrangements; but if it's a middle class family, living under constrained circumstances, then it's almost impossible to manage their tantrums and balance the other activities! In this particular case, it appears that the house belonged to one of the two senior ladies; or else, the accused would have found some other escape route and avoid this tragic incident to happen! The above is my very personal opinion!

Looks like people are "burning out mentally" in Silicon Valley! This tragic incident seems to have been carried out under utter desperation; very surprising that she chose to kill her own mother rather her mother-in-law, which shows that the murder was carried out when she was not her proper frame of mind!!

John, living in metro cities in small houses is a very tough job; in between that, if after coming home tired from work one has to hear everyday "Kiri Kiri" will definitely have deadly consequences! Instead of doing this, if the lady would have shifted the senior citizens to another house or old age home, it would have been a win-win situation for all involved!! Though, there is a possibility that the house was owned by one of these senior citizens!!

John bro, anything is possible; one cannot ever think his children are sacrosanct; it depends on the circumstances, which has culminated into this situation in this particular case! Life has become so emotionally and financially stressful that if the children themselves are not able to sustain themselves, how far they can go to take care of a parent?
