Kaup: Biparjoy cyclone alert; flexes, signboards issue warning to tourists

Kaup, Jun 14: In view of the Biparjoy cyclone alert, high tides are being witnessed in Kaup Beach, Uchila, Moolooru, Polipu, Uliyaragoli yard Beach, Kaipunjal Beach and the surrounding areas of Kaup lighthouse making the citizens a bit tensed.

High tides are seen near Kaup lighthouse as the sea area has been expanded by at least 20 metres. High tides are hitting the rocks that surround the lighthouse.

Signboards and flexes have been put up warning the tourists against stepping into the water. Ropes have been tied near Kaup lighthouse and tourists have been asked to stay away from the area. Tourists have also been told to watch the sea from behind the ropes that have been put up.

Kaup police personnel, Home Guards and Life guards are on the vigil along the beach to prevent any tourist from entering the sea. Precautionary measures have been taken to prevent any untoward incident. Awareness is also being created among the tourists to remain vigilant and careful about the rough weather.
