Mangaluru, Jun 15: Police commissioner Kuldeep Jain said, “The anti-communal wing has been formed headed by city special branch inspector under the leadership of city crime branch (CCB).”
Addressing media here on Thursday June 15, the police commissioner stated that the anti-communal wing has been formed and started functioning since two days under city special branch inspector. He further said, “Five to six dedicated officers will work in the anti-communal wing and will keep eye on communal activities in the city limits. The anti-communal wing will monitor the cases pertaining to moral policing, communal murders, cattle theft, trial of the accused, accused troubling victims, hate speeches, and social media posts that instigates communal violence, so that such incidents will be prevented.
“The anti-communal wing will retrieve cases of over the past 10 years. Around 200 cases including cattle thefts, assaults in the name of moral policing, and murders have been recorded in the city.
“We have already started monitoring the activities. Personnel and field officers are put in charge to ensure communal harmony,” he said.
