Udupi, Jun 16: MLA Yashpal Suvarna said, “The government is trying to create panic among the public by forming anti-communal wing in the coastal districts. There are many religious places in undivided district of Dakshina Kannada.
“The parents of students are also thinking twice before sending their children to the coastal districts. The SDPI was the first to welcome the formation of the anti-communal wing. The Congress and SDPI are two faces of the same coin. The Congress supports SDPI indirectly.
“Without considering the DJ Halli and KJ Halli riots, this wing is formed targeting Dakshina Kannada district. This should be verified.
“Earlier, the government withdrew cases filed against 150 PFI activists. It should clarify what is there in the limits of this wing. A good master plan should be chalked out for the development of Mangaluru. The anti-communal wing is formed to appease one community. The PFI and CFI are banned. But they are forming organization under different names. This should not be allowed,” he said.
Commenting on the revision of text books, withdrawal of the laws on anti-cow slaughter and religious conversion, he said, “The government is misleading people. There is no clarity from where they will bring funds for the five guarantees. They should immediately recheck on the withdrawal of anti-conversion law. No law that is detrimental to the country should be implemented. Such statements for the sake of vote bank should not be given. Text books have lessons on patriots. Our students should know about our land. We will protest these acts of the government.
“The Congress has attained power by lying to public. They have increased prices in different ways. We have to wait and see how long this government lasts. It is not possible to run state government without the support of union government. They should have checked the availability before announcing the guarantees. Let them bring the documents for discussion. Siddaramaiah has the experience of presenting 13 budgets. Before accusing the centre, he disclose the information of the union government to the people,” he said.
