Udupi, Jun 16: Under the guidance of Udupi SP Akshay Machindra Hakay, a police team led by Manipal police inspector Devaraj T V has intensified its crackdown on drug-related activities. On Friday, June 16, the team apprehended two law students who were attempting to sell MDMA drugs near Ishwar Nagar apartment in Herga village.
The police discovered 7.3 grams of MDMA worth Rs 35,000 in their possession. Additionally, they seized a Duke bike worth Rs 1.25 lakhs and two mobile phones worth Rs 1 lakh. The arrested individuals, Nibhish (23) and Amal (22), are residents of Kerala and students at Udupi Law College. The police are currently searching for another suspect, Apsin, who is currently on the run.
The operation, led by additional SP Siddalingappa T and supervised by DSP Akshay Machindra Hakay, involved team members Dinaker K P, DySP Udupi, Devaraj T V, police inspector at Manipal police station, PSI Abdul Khader, and station staff Nagesh Nayak, Sukumar Shetty, Abdul Razak, Imran, Chennesh, Anandaiah, Arun Kumar, and Dinesh.
