Cash, Gold Found at Sathya Sai Baba's Bangalore Ashram

Bangalore, Jul 20 (IANS): Cash, gold and silver were found Wednesday at late Sathya Sai Baba's ashram near here when an inventory was done, an ashram spokesperson said.

Media coordinator of the Sathya Sai Trust A. Anantharaman told reporters that Rs.80 lakh (Rs. 8 million) in cash, six kg gold and 240 kg silver jewellery were found. The ashram is at Whitefield, about 25 km from the city centre.

The inventory was done in the presence of five trustees and Karnataka government officials, he said, adding the officials' presence was sought by the trust.

This is the first time that inventory was done at the late Baba's Bangalore ashram.

Three rounds of inventory at his main ashram in Puttaparthi in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh after his demise on April 24 have given a haul of nearly Rs.75 crore worth gold, silver and cash, say officials.

    All money collected in church is not going to Pope. Only Mission Sunday collection goes Pope and that has been utilized for the welfare of the poor people, mostly used in African countrys, Money & Gold is not stored in Bedrooms or basements.

    Pope is keeping it in Bank and propers account has been kept. There are auditors to check the accounts. No need of security or snake to guard the wealth. Hope you guys Prabhu & Shyam got the difference.

    Your free suggestion could be dispensed with when sought for.So far all the wealth of Baba Trust is being used only on social welfare activities.The trust members were reaffirmed continuance of these activities several times.Trust members are prudent enough to carry out the legecy of Baba in the days to come.

    I dont think muslims donate huge money to masjids.yes some might give to dargah.what i heard from my muslim friends is that the masjid are run by the local people belong to that particular area.they dont throng a masjid as in the case of temples.

    MR. K.R. PRABHU AND SHYAM:

    I am speaking for myself, and may I request you not to misunderstand my comments. SATHYA SAI BABA has done a lot of humanitarian services which is highly praise worthy. But finding the hidden wealth of gold bar and millions of dollars worth of goods is simply a question mark for many.

    There are a few multimillionairs in the U.S., got rich by preaching a different gospel than JESUS
    CHRIST preached. One fellow is living in a 6 million dollar home in front of a lake with his own
    airport and a fleet of jet planes. The one he is using regulary is 20 million dollars worth. Whatever
    religion it might be, if religion is being used by a few to get rich materially, I will be critical of that. 

    All religions need money to maintain the places of worship and to take care of the people working
    in that field, but very stronly I believe that religions must concentrate to wipe the tears of the hungry and poor at first, but not in the business of creating more wealth.

    No, Mr. Shyam and Mr. Pradbhu, we do not want the money, there are some orphanages run by your community where the children do not get food, they have boils and scabies on thier skin. Pls. ensure that the money is used so that the orphans atleast get basic need like,food,clothing,shelter,education if not luxuries.

    Sai baba has helped many people by establishing Hospitals & Educational Institutes, tat should not be frogotton. The money & ornaments could be used for more work, let govt. aquire it and use it for helping the public. The money what he had been taxed and nothing is illegal. If some one can search Yeddy's house you will get more than that, that to black money from corruption scandals.

    i completely agree with you..  these minorites coment as though all hnidu temple donation to be utilised for public ..but they never give same sugetin on chruch or masjid donation..  they ask swami to distribute all wealth among poor / y they are not asking their pop to distributre all his wealth among poor ?  y he is traveing and living 5 star life ?

    y bishops and pop is travelling in benz car ? y cant pop sell his benz car and other valuable and distribute among poor ?

    atleast yediyoiurapa showing some respect to hindu temple when govt takes 100 of crores from other temple for public and minority wellfare survices..

    but in oiur kerala uman cahnidn and other islamic congress leaders now only looting hindu temple money ..and distributing it among all mullas, fathers ,bishops and other minority developments..
    but govt. are not taking single money from masjid or church..

    du u know kerala govt is giving 1000 rupees to every minority relegiou kids in kerala..these all money come from hindu temple ..i mean hindu devotees..

    Sri Sathya Sai baba is revered by crores of people all over the world with utmost devotion.They have given Baba crores of rupees valued wealth in the form of gold,daimond,silver,cash etc.,It is the faith they reposed on Baba.
    Baba has accumulated these gifts of devotees and used the majority of the contributions for the welfare of the people not only in Andhra but all over the country.His main contribution was towards education,health and drinking water.He has liberally contributed for building educational instituions,super speciality hospitals and state water projects.
    Unfortunately we read number of unhealthy comments by unscrupulous readers regarding Baba as if the wealth is accumulated by demand or force.No other Hindu guru was so popular like Baba in recent times.The role played by him also was pro-people which was quite different from others.It is easy to comment in a silly way which dipicts once level of thinking.While mentioning that LEVEL OF THINKING,it has enormous streach to peep.
    It is better one should acquaintain with such popular gurus contributions to the soceity before we comment on the issue as we like.

    the total asset is causing greater
    confusion and surprise to the world. While thousands of people
    are hungry and sick, how these
    religious gurus can hide such
    vast wealth underground? And for
    whom they kept this? Perhaps, the
    hidden wealth in the religious
    places can solve all the economic
    problems of the poor masses of
    India.

    Dear Baba and Swamy Kindly give money to Build Park for children, To paint our Govt. poor school, kindly give fund for to make nice bus stop, to make good road, to make forest, to make nice market, to clean all our rivers, to clean and paint our govt. offices, and police station, jail, bus station, railway station.

    Is this ashram/temple or a palace....how come fool these innocent devotees in the name religion...just imagine this is found so far and what about not found hidden and looted by 100s if not by 1000s and our CM Yeddi go on distributing to temples and swamijis...woh...JAI HO Karnataka....
