Sullia: Mentally distressed young woman takes her own life

Sullia, Jun 18: A young woman, who had been battling mental illness for the past 10 years, tragically ended her life at her residence on June 16.

The deceased is Yashwini (23), daughter of Peraja Devappa Naika, a resident of Mandekolu village in the taluk.

Yashwini hanged herself in the morning of June 16 when there was no one present at home. Her mother had gone to gather grass, and her father had left for work.

The Sullia police conducted an investigation at the scene. Yashwini had been suffering from severe depression for the past decade. She is survived by her parents, a younger brother, and a sister.
