Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 19: Fishing activity began in Chennai after a two-month prohibition. The boats that went into deep sea returned with a huge bounty of fish on Sunday to the ports of Chennai.

There is shortage of fish in Karnataka as the traditional boat fishermen could not venture into the deep sea due to the Biparjoy cyclone.
In Karnataka, fishing is banned from June 1 to July 31. In Tamil Nadu, fishing is banned from April 15 to June 15. On their first trip to sea, plenty of fish of different varieties were caught by the fishermen.
Within a day or two, fresh fish of Chennai is going to arrive in twin districts as per the fish merchants of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi.
