Beltangady: Ruckus after alleged assault on students by KSRTC bus conductor – Complaint filed

Beltangady, Jun 19: Public and students waylaid a KSRTC bus near Charmady on Saturday evening, accusing the conductor of the bus of pushing students inside the bus and assaulting.

A case in this regard is filed in Dharmasthala police station as per the complaint given by the conductor of the bus.

Students picked up fight with the conductor of the bus as the accused him of pushing and assaulting them while they boarded the bus at Ujire. Later, the students called the public of Charmady to Charmady check post. As the bus reached Charmady check post, locals gathered on the road and stopped the bus and created ruckus.

Police personnel who were on duty at the check post tried to pacify the public and the students. However, it is said that the students on the bus abused with profanity driver, conductor and other passengers in the bus and also tried to assault the conductor and driver.

The whole incident was caught on mobile phone by locals and then shared on social media. Dharmasthala PSI Anil Kumar and team arrived on the spot and brought the situation under control. After a delay of one and half hour, the bus moved towards Moodigere from Charmady.

Conductor Shivakumar registered a complaint in this regard with the police of Dharmasthala. It is learnt that the police have inquired the students who created ruckus on the bus.
