Mangaluru, Jun 19: The duty of traffic policeman or policewoman is a challenging job. They have to brunt the heat, rain and also the smoke that emanates from the vehicles moving around. However, there are some cops who also are concerned about the dangers that commuters face and do whatever they can.
In a similar act of social concern, a traffic policeman on duty at Nanthoor Junction put mud on the oil that got spilt on the road preventing skidding of vehicles. The video of his act has gone viral on social media.
In the video, it can be seen that a traffic cop is putting mud on the oil spilt on the road with his hands. A tweet is made to this effect by twitter account in the name of James. This incident was recorded on June 17 at 12.50 pm.
Some passengers of a passing by vehicle have caught the Good Samaritan act of the traffic cop. The cop used to take handful of mud and go to the spot of oil spillage put the same over it and was coming back and handling vehicle movement also.
The cop is identified as Hunumantappa Naikar attached to Kadri traffic police station. The oil spill was spread on the highway. As it was raining on Saturday, there was every possibility that the vehicles, especially the two wheelers of getting skid. So to avoid such danger, the cop put the mud on the oil as an immediate relief measure.
City police commissioner Kuldeep Kumar Jain appreciated the act of the cop as the video went viral. He said that by noting such acts, it is possible for us to improve our service to public.
