Another Jolt: HC Allows Police to Question Yeddy on Corruption Charges

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore

Bangalore, Jul 21: Chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, who is currently on a holiday in Mauritius, seems to be having a rough time. First came the allegations that his party ministers and leaders had tried to influence the Lokayukta's mining report, followed by the mining report itself that indicted him, and now, the Karnataka high court has said that the CM can be questioned on complaints of corruption filed against him.

On Thursday July 21, a day after the Lokayukta's report on illegal mining got leaked to the media, the high court ruled that police can question Yeddyurappa and his family on charges of corruption and illegal land dealings.

Earlier in March, Justice K N Keshavanarayana had ordered a stay on the trial court proceedings in the five cases filed against Yeddyurappa, his two sons, son-in-law and others, after a petition was filed by Yeddyurappa's son-in-law Sohan Kumar. But on Thursday, he revoked the stay order and gave the nod for the proceedings to continue.

The complaints were filed after governor H R Bhardwaj granted permission to two Bangalore advocates Sirajin Bhasha and K N Balaraj to file criminal cases against the CM, his two sons, Raghavendra and Vijayendra, son-in-law Sohan Kumar and several others.

Mr. Yeddyurappa is the most shameless, cunning and corrupt Chief Minister Karnataka ever seen. He wanted to grab everything including money and large area of land for him and his family within a short period of time. It is unfortunate that BJP and some people still support him without understanding how his act of open corruption and nepotism is affecting the administration.

Now there is no way out. He has to be shunted out if any morality is left in BJP. Unfortunately unlike Congress, BJP top leadership is very weak and lacks assertiveness.

POLICE OF KARNATAKA ARE IN THE HANDS OF YEDDY. ITS YEDDY'S GOVERNMENT AND YEDDY'S POLICE. WHAT CORRUPTION CHARGES REPORT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THE LOCAL POLICE OF KATRNATAKA.

AN OUTSIDER OR A RETIRED SITTING JUDGE SHOULD HAVE BEEN APPOINTED TO QUESTION YEDDY AND NOT LOCAL POLICE. THIS IS A STUPIDITY OF THE HC OF KARNATKA. I AM SURE THE HC ALSO WANTS TO SAVE YEDDY AND THAT IS WHY IT HAS ORDERED KARNATAKA POLICE TO INVESTIGATE YEDDY. THIS IS COMPLETELY WRONG ON HC.

The Government should transfer this Justice K N Keshavanarayana. The matter was so hot and published in all the news paper and media and even then the judge give stay on cases filed by advocates Sirajin Bhasha and K N Balaraj. It is a mockery of justive system where the entire episode getting permission was so tough and after getting permission to file cases the judge invoke a stay on it.That means there is value to the outcry of people and views of the general public. The government is elected by less than 50% of the population as the election turn out is less than 70%.There are more people out there who could not our did not vote any political party who want to prosecute Eddy for the charges filed by the two lawyers. The BJP is just fooling the people of Karnataka.

By now BSY must be pretty jolt-proof. If one looks at the sequence of events, BSY must've had a pre-monition(or thanx to tele tapping??) about his fall and that must've prompted him to spend last 'official days' holidaying in Mauritius.

How suddenly Justice K N Keshavanarayana woke up? Moreover, it is a joke that police can question Yeddyurappa and his family on charges of corruption and illegal land dealings. Yeddy can purchase the police of Karnataka.

It is hard to believe that when CM or big politician get a chancce to loot...not himself the whole family try to loot the State and grab as much as possible.

Now, after looting our CM wants to enjoy holiday in Mauritius but he can not enjoy. Has he gone on holiday or to visit any special temples, the Gods here in the Karnataka temples not more favouring him....lets watch the drama...
