Mangaluru, Jun 22: A man, who felt giddy after climbing a tree in order to cut it, was saved by a gutsy passer-by who climbed the tree and prevented him from falling down. This incident took place on Wednesday June 21 near Kinnigoli church.
Dangerous trees are being pruned by the forest department as per the request of Kinnigoli town panchayat. Harish, resident of Kemmade and another youth had climbed a huge tree for the same purpose. However, Harish felt giddy as he climbed on top of the tree. Though forest officials and panchayat members were on the spot, they could not do anything.
In the meantime, electrician Vijaya Amin, resident of Elinje, who was passing by the same spot, saw the chaos and climbed the tree fast and wound the rope around the waist of Harish and held him so that he did not fall to the ground. Later, a crane was procured by forest department officials and Harish was brought down.
The daredevil act of Vijaya Amin and his timely presence of mind is being lauded by one and all.
