Kalaburagi, Jun 23: State BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel said that the guarantees promised by the Congress government will become a burden and it will perish within one year.
Speaking at the meeting of party workers at Veerashaiva Kalyana Mantapa in the city, Nalin said, “The government is facing severe problems in the implementation of Shakti and Gruha Jyoti schemes. In few months all the Escoms and KSRTC will close down if the government cannot give required grants. Then in a year, the government will collapse.
“The Congress should have thought before promising these guarantees. Innocent people believed in the guarantees and now they are cursing the Congress party.
“The Congress is falsely accusing the union government that it is not giving rice for distribution to poor. Did the Congress say that it will buy rice from union government when they declared the 10 kg rice per head guarantee? Then why they are asking the central government now?” he questioned.
Encouraging the party workers, Nalin said, “Do not get frustrated by the defeat of the party in the assembly elections. Though the Congress MLAs are more, the percentage of votes got by BJP is no less. Victory and defeat are common in politics. The S M Krishna led Congress government and Siddaramaiah’s government also tasted defeat.”
Nalin asked party workers to convey the false promises of the Congress and achievements of the union government to the public. He also said that the party workers should ensure the victory of the party in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
