Kundapur: Two arrested for illegal cow trafficking, 3 calves rescued

Kundapur, Jun 25: Police have apprehended two individuals and rescued three male calves who were being transported in a pickup truck under inhumane conditions.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Karikallu Chandra Shetty (55), a resident of Japti village, and Guddeangadi Annappa (65), a resident of Halladi village.

Acting on a reliable tip-off, Sub-Inspector Nasir Hussain of Shankaranarayana police station intercepted the pickup truck, uncovering the illegal activity.

Authorities suspect that the accused may have stolen the calves while they were grazing.

A case has been registered at the Shankaranayana police station.
