Udupi, Jun 25: Tar balls have been found on Malpe Beach since the last four or five days. The black coloured tar balls that was ashore along with the waves has caused panic among locals and nature lovers.

The tar balls are spread over the stretch of Malpe, Kola and Thottam sea shores. This is causing breathing problem for sea creatures as it reduces oxygen level in the water. When crude oil gets leaked in the ocean, it forms into balls due to the wind and waves.

Fishermen say that the tar balls are dangerous for fish.
