Bantwal: Auto-rickshaw turns turtle killing driver on spot

Bantwal, Jun 27: An auto-rickshaw driver died on spot after the vehicle he was driving went out of control and turned turtle, late night on Monday June 26.

The deceased is identified as Sudarshan (35), a resident of Panja in Subramanya. It is said that he succumbed to injuries on the spot.

Sudarshan and another person had come to Bavalimule at Manila in Vittal. The driver lost control over the vehicle leading to the mishap.

Another person who was in the auto-rickshaw sustained minor injuries.

A case is registered in Vittal police station.

    In all probability the driver died on the spot because of injuries to his head. The manufacturers of rickshaws should consider having airbags on the roof of rickshaws as a safety feature for both driver and passengers. The rickshaw should built more square shaped with 4 wheels for better balance and road grip and it not to turn over easily. The rickshaw should also have a stronger all around aluminium frame.

    Please see the height (vertical) of the road from the ground level; any two or three wheeler will topple if by chance the vehicle veers outside the road?

    Shocking.What went wrong.?Even for the passenger it is must be a shock and not comfortable .weight from Rickshaw must have gone imbalanced.May his soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathy to to his family.Very sad.so young.
