Mangaluru, Jun 27: "Our country has given utmost importance to the protection and conservation of cattle. The cow represents our culture," said BJP state unit president Nalin Kumar Kateel.
Speaking to media here on Tuesday, June 27, he said, “The BJP government has introduced the anti-cattle slaughter law to protect the culture of this land. Even Mahatma Gandhi spoke about preserving the cattle. The present government should take strict measures to prevent the slaughtering of cattle.
“After the new government came to power, cases of cattle theft and slaughtering is on the rise. The police department should take strict measures against these incidents,” he said.
On the BJP’s preparations for next year’s Lok Sabha elections, Nalin said, “The party workers are working hard for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Party leaders should not give unnecessary statements. Already, notices have been served to those leaders who have given such statements. Even in future, notices will be served to such leaders. All should work under the party’s discipline and regulations.”
Reacting to minister Priyank Kharge’s statement urging withdrawal of anti-cattle slaughter act, Nalin said, “He should respect the sentiments of people. Such statements are a threat to peace in the society.”
