Udupi: 8-year-old accidentally falls to death from terrace

Udupi, Jun 28: A young boy accidentally fell to his death from the terrace in an incident that happened in Manipal.

The deceased is identified as Ayush (8), son of Dharwad resident Namadeva.

The boy and his father were on a visit to undergo a surgery and were living in Dasharathanagar of Badagubettu village where one of their relatives lived.

On June 25, when Ayush was playing with other kids on the terrace, the boy accidentally fell down and injured his head severely. He was admitted to a hospital in Manipal but Ayush failed to respond to treatment and died on June 26.

A case has been registered in this connection in Manipal police station.

    RIP! Appears that the building had no sufficient heightened parapet wall on the terrace. You can find many such individual houses and small buildings in and around Mangalore and Udipi!!

    Very danger to go even outside your house.It is more slippery now.Should not wear slippers when going around the terrace. The surface of slippers is smooth and can easily put you down due to the water logging .Old people should be very careful when going here and there.The mosquito is another danger with so many malaria cases.Keep your area clean and tidy.Precaution is better then cure.Take care each and everyone. God bless everyone.

    Very true; the overall infrastructure condition during the rains is horrible, the worst is the highly slippery moss which proliferates in places which are not used for long!
