Mangaluru, Jun 29: The city police arrested a youth, resident of Kadaba, on the charges of cheating a woman by having physical relationship with her on pretext of marriage.
The arrested accused is identified as Anish Rehman.
A 24-year-old woman victim had filed a written complaint in Mangaluru women's police station on June 26 alleging that Anish Rehman contacted her on Instagram and both fell in love. She has also stated that the accused also promised to get married to her and took her to a private lodge in the city and had physical relationship with her continuously for 20 days. Later, the victim came to know that accused was already married and hence she informed the matter at her home.
Anish Rehman was arrested by the police on June 26 and produced in the court on June 27. The court sent the accused to judicial custody for 14 days.
The accused has already facing a case in Kavoor police station under NDPS Act.
