Bantwal: Incessant rainfall since last few days causes widespread loss to property

Bantwal, July 3: Heavy rainfall during the last few days here has damaged houses, valuable items and caused huge losses.

The border wall of the dwelling house of Sharath Gowda at Manjotti, Peraje village has collapsed. The shed which was razed to park his vehicle fell causing damage to his property. Four coconut saplings and eight areca nut saplings were also damaged.

 

There was damage to the shed away from the house belonging to Gangadhar, at Panjaje, Kanyana village due to an electric short circuit. However, no loss of lives were reported.

A coconut tree fell on the toilet of the residential house belonging to Shakuntala Acharya, at Bakila, Anantadi village causing damage to their property.

Traffic was disrupted at Mani on Mani-Puttur road for some time as a tree got uprooted and fell across the road.
