Mangaluru, Jul 5: Deputy commissioner (DC) Mulai Mugilan summoned the officials and held a meeting to find reasons for flooding at Pumpwell junction following the heavy downpour that the city received on July 3.
Mangaluru City Corporation Commissioner Anand C L said the flooded region was in a lower plane adding that work on the national highway was also in progress. He said due to the heavy rainfall, Pumpwell has been flooded.
He said a master plan is being prepared to bring about a permanent solution under the initiative of the deputy commissioner. He said all possible technical solutions are being examined after which a master plan will be prepared to address the issue.
Life is limping back to normalcy after the water level receded on Tuesday at Pumpwell and Kottara junctions after Monday's heavy downpour.
Vehicular movement and life is returning to normal.
A few shops and garages in Kottara junction were flooded as they were in a low lying area and water was pumped out from these areas. Water flow on the Rajakaluve has also come down. In Pumpwell, vehicular movement is returning to normal.
