Bantwal, July 5: Heavy rains that have been pounding the taluk has caused large-scale and huge losses at several places since Tuesday night.
Trees fell on the houses of Kanyana residents Karminadi and Vasanthi, partly damaging their houses. A tree fell on the house of Nebisa at Majjoni, Veerakamba village damaging their house. The border wall of Baby at Maji, Veerakamba village has been damaged.
Hill caved in on the house of Rafik. The house belonging to Sheelavathi, Tenkakaje village has been severely damaged. The houses of Aliyamma, Ismael at Mani village, Palike resident Mohan Kulal, Gopi at Pilatabettu village are also damaged. Former district panchayat vice-president Tungappa Bangera visited the affected places.
A cowshed at Belthasaravu has also been damaged. A tree fell on the house of Rohini in Anantadi village.
The compound wall and house wall collapsed at Chandalike, near Vitla. The compound wall of Krishnappa Madiwala collapsed. As he informed the natural disaster helpline, the staff visited them.
Vitla town panchayat member Ashraf V K and panchayat officers visited the places and collected the details about the damages and losses caused due to the heavy downpour.
