Bantwal being an area surrounded by many hills these type of incidents were bound to happen because of hill cutting and rampant deforestation to build houses without retainer walls etc, built by local contractors; each passing year the soil is becoming looser making it highly prone to landslides!!

The residence staying there may face further landslides any time in future too, unless the panchayat does some favour to find a solution with govt. support.

Very right; too much of landscaping and deforestation has been done by cutting hills vertically and leveling to build houses without any precautionary measures which is leading to loosening of the soil year after year increasing the possibility of landslides in multiple places unless corrective actions are not taken!
