K’taka Cong to stage protest on July 12 against Rahul’s disqualification

Bengaluru, Jul 10 (IANS): Dy CM and Karnataka Congress President D.K. Shivakumar on Monday said that they will stage a silent protest on July 12 against the alleged conspiracy of the BJP government to end the political career of Rahul Gandhi.

Addressing a press conference in Bengaluru, Dy CM Shivakumar said that BJP union government is attempting to conspire and end political career of Rahul Gandhi.

He said that the Karnataka Congress would organise a silent protest on July 12 at the Freedom Park in Bengaluru from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, myself, AICC General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala, all MLAs, ministers, MPs and leaders will take part,” Shivakumar said.

He said that Rahul Gandhi has never damaged the prestige of the country. There is a conspiracy to end his political career in the pretext of the speech he delivered in Karnataka.

“We condemn this. The message has to be sent to the opposition and across the country to stand with Rahul Gandhi who is standing for truth and the country,” Shivakumar said.

He said that the BJP was not able to tolerate the success of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra and our big success in Karnataka that is why his membership of Parliament was suspended.

“The Congress has won in all constituencies where Rahul Gandhi took out Pada Yatra,” Shivakumar stated.

He said that the suggestion had come to take up Bharat Jodo Yatra from East to West in India. BJP after seeing his popularity, success is conspiring against him.

“It has been decided to observe silent protest under the leadership of AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge. I urge the party workers to participate in large numbers,” he said.

He said that the meeting of the opposition will take place in Bengaluru on July 17 and 18.

“Mallikarjun Kharge has also invited Sonia Gandhi. She has given a positive response. We welcome all opposition leaders who are participating in the meet,” Shivakumar said.

Guys ! The case was filed in 2019. Now, look at the timing of the sentence. It has come just a year before LS elections. So there will be severe protests by the Congress for RaGA and he will be in the limelight. BJP or NDA just want that , an eventual 'RaGa vs Modi' show down. The results then is obvious . The Congress is walking into the trap as expected. These safe constituency walas wont understand.

Sir, Its a court judgement. Fight it in the court! . Also, Whats wrong in the political career? As long as there is a 'safe constituency' in Kerala , RaGa can contest as many times as he likes.

this party always think its previliged..Many may not know, in 1975 Allahabad High court declared Indira Gandhi's election invalid on the grounds of corrupt practices in election. India gandhi barred from contesting into elections for another six years. suddenly Congress Govt imposed emergency all over India..Congress passed 39th Constitutional Amendment) by inserting Article 329-A in the Constitution which altogether barred the jurisdiction of Supreme Court from entertaining the matter of elections- making the elections of President, Prime Minister, Vice-President and the Speaker of Lok Sabha unjustifiable in the court of law...this is Congress..and they preach Constitution & Democracy..article 329-A snatches away these rights from the court. Free and fair elections are the key features of a democracy and it is important that if elections are won by malice, judiciary has to intervene to ensure justice is served.

This case is not as simple as it looks... This is a clear result of combined judicial graft... An almost on issue has been blown out of proportions only to remove hurdles on road to 2024 to enjoy kingdom in new Sansad Bhavan and PM palace for extended period of time.... During Gujarat files days many voices were silenced and the process is still on... Same tactics are continued to be employed... But people will overthrow any collective dictatorship over a period of time....

There are two sane options. Appeal in the supreme court or apologize publicly and persuade the petitioners to withdraw the case.

..protest against who ?..court disqualified , not Modi Govt..if you protest against Court decision instead of fighting in SC, then don you think you are not obeying constitutional court and isnt it death of democracy!!..we remember congressmen thrown stone at IT office in mangalore on behalf of you..if you throw stone at Court building you will be permanently inside..
