@ Shankar, Rightly said. Some people blame the delay and criticize as if ready to take a risk. what the captain do is for human safety to be cautious of likely encounters. God forbid.

Well, find it difficult to understand that most of the AI Express flights have last min technical problems. I too faced a 13 hours delay while flying Mangalore to Dubai in May. No prior intimation of the delay, the only feed back is technical glitch and resolution is "you may cancel your airticket and gain refund or wait till they arrange a flight. I already faced 4 situation of delay with AI this year while flying Dubai to mangalore or vise versa. These so called technical glitch is last min stories. This july while being in the queue to checkin in, one of the AI crew approaches me and some passengers to buy their priority check in, so I mentioned the person, "I can wait for 15 min in the queue have have the check in done, why dont you guys make sure the flight is on time and once that assurance and trust is there, you may sell other services :) .... bottom line, Jet airways is gone, spice jet is gone, now these ppl are looting us ..

Passengers should understand that a flight can not take off in case a technical glitch is identified on preflight check up, until it is rectified and certified okay to fly by a senior engineer. How many of the passengers would be ready to fly the same aircraft with a glitch which has not been rectified?

Shanker mangalore ,sure we understand fully what you say.Other side AI is long time sick patient. It is not first time it happens.Other side passengers also have their rights. When flight is delayed for more than 6hours ,they ahve to give passengers meals and overnight resting facilities according to International rules.Passengers are not simply left somewhere in their destiny.Have to also give Compansation too.Did AI gave any food or sleeping facilities?Am sure it is not some technical fault.must be lack of enough passengers. It happend many times previously too.Even have to allow to travel in other flights if any available.

Eurowings and Lufthansa also have the same problems, but people adjust understanding the situation. Encountered such delay due to technical glitch in Lufthansa's base Frankfurt itself! Waited for 6 hours for a replacement flight!

What is this technical fault / snag? Is the aircraft not certified before it enters the terminal?

First of all it is very unfortunate for this incident. Moreover if the passengers are made to wait, why dont they provide alternative shelters. If the people are from nearby Mangalore, they can advise them the exact time so that they can return back to their homes and come back when everything is settled. If a flight is delayed and it is justified. Unfortunately if a passenger is delayed (either accident or some other issues) the flight will take off leaving the passenger although the passenger has a confirmed ticket. Even they dont call the passengers although the passengers have the confirmed tickets. Air India Express is called a budget flight but the fares are very high from Mangalore compared to other cities. Why we Mangaloreans have to suffer always. I had the same experience during my flight to Saudi. I used the Calicut Airport instead of Mangalore. Moreover there are no food served even for the long journey even though the prices are high. Lastly but sadly, we Mangaloreans are just proud to be a Hindu or a Muslim. Almost all the officers and other staffs are from other states in India and we rarely see Mangaloreans in these jobs. Are there no qualified persons to handle these jobs in Mangalore.

Good Point raised Prashanth, very good, i don't know how many will understand this. But its true. in Mangalore all hospitals and collages filled by Malayali's still we use to laugh, we are digging our own grave. where all Mangalorean youth has gone? why we are not getting job. as far as your concern about the long delay its too bad on the part of AI, they are busy in by promoting Kannur and Trichy no one worries about Mangalore. why we dont have more flight from Bahrain, and Riyadh now even the private which was operating to Mangalore stopped only Indigo. these are called them self as Budget carrier. on which point these are Budget, we dont understand.
