Mangalore, Jul 28: In an amusing incident, Congress party workers shouted slogans in support of BJP as many as five times during the party's 'victory' celebration organised by the DK district Congress committee in front of the district Congress office in Hampanakatta here on Thursday July 28.
The district unit of Congress has been demanding Yeddyurappa's dismissal right from the day Lokayukta report first made headlines.
But when the day finally came and it was time to celebrate, the confused party workers shouted 'BJP ki Jai' whenever KPCC secretary Ivan D’Souza demanded dissolution of the BJP government in the state.
Strangely, this aberration was not observed by the leaders. Later, the party workers corrected their mistake and shouted slogans against the BJP government.
Addressing the protestors, Ivan D'Souza said that the dismissal of Yeddyurappa by his own party high command has exposed the truth to the people of Karnataka. He also congratulated the leaders of national BJP for taking this drastic step. He also urged the governor to dissolve the state government as it is facing allegations of rampant corruption.
Congress workers burst crackers and distributed sweets to celebrate the sacking of Yeddyurappa. However, most of the Congress leaders and MLAs were not present on the occasion.
