Opposition, Media Trying to Finish Me off - Yeddyurappa
Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore
Bangalore, Jul 28: Beleaguered chief minister of Karnataka B S Yeddyurappa who entered his residence at Race Course Road this morning around 9.30, has stayed put inside and still not made public appearance. Hectic political activities are taking place at his residence as well as the 'Parijatha' residence of Gali Janardhana Reddy ever since the central BJP leadership asked the CM to step down.
The BJP high command has given Yeddyurappa 12 hours (up to 11 pm on Thursday July 28) to submitt his resignation.
Returning from New Delhi this morning, a visibly shaken Yeddyurappa was in an angry mood, losing his temper quickly especially with the media.
When a journalist bumped into him at his residence and asked when he would be resigning, he is said to have lost and shouted, "Hey why should I resign? Just because you people and opposition want?" He straight away blamed the opposition Congress and JD(S) and the media for maligning his name. "The opposition and media are trying to finish me off, but I will not bend so easily. I will come back like a Phoenix," he reportedly said in an anger note.
Yeddyurappa Eyes State BJP Leadership?
After his demand to make his own candidate (Shobha Karandlaje) the next CM was shot down by the BJP high command, Yeddyurappa has now reportedly demanded state BJP leadership so that he can continue to keep the state BJP in control, and can come back to power once he is cleared of the allegations, if the BJP wins the next elections.
But none of top BJP leaders have confirmed this demand by Yeddurappa.
No differences in state BJP: R Ashok
Home minister R Ashok told reporters that the state BJP unit is united and there are no differences of opinion. BJP will rule the state for the next two years and carry on developmental work as usual.
Asked when would Yeddyurappa's resignation come, he said, "Every BJP member in the state is abiding by the BJP policies, and is faithful to the high command."
