Udupi, Jul 14: Outgoing deputy commissioner Kurma Rao M, who served in Udupi district for one year and ten months, expressed his gratitude for the unforgettable experience he had during his tenure. He assured his commitment to supporting the district's development in the future, regardless of his position. These remarks were made by Kurma Rao M during a farewell program held in his honor at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee auditorium, Rajathadri today.
Kurma Rao M acknowledged the strong desire among local residents and the workforce to make Udupi a model district, and he encouraged the continuation of this pursuit. He commended the people, officials, and staff for their excellent cooperation, which allowed him to function as a cohesive unit during his service.
The newly appointed deputy commissioner, Dr Vidyamumari, praised Kurma Rao M for successfully facing the challenges that arise in Udupi, a district known for its educated and intelligent populace. Dr Vidyamumari emphasized the need for the revenue department, zilla panchayat, and police department to work in tandem, urging everyone to collaborate as a team for the district's growth.
Zilla panchayat CEO Prasanna commended Kurma Rao M for his patient attitude, which serves as an example for all officers. He highlighted the impressive programs conducted under Kurma Rao M's guidance during the elections through Sweep. Furthermore, he mentioned that three software programs beneficial to the Revenue Department are being developed by him through NIC.
SP Akshay M Hakay acknowledged Kurma Rao M's support in combating the drug menace and his emphasis on regulating traffic on national highways and within the city.
The farewell program was attended by Kundapur sub divisional officer Rashmi and district PF commissioner Abhishek. Additional DC Veena B N extended a warm welcome, while Dr Roshan Kumar Shetty, assistant director of the sports department, served as the program's host.
Officers, staff members from various departments, local residents, and representatives from local and religious organizations expressed their well-wishes for Kurma Rao M's future endeavors.
