Bengaluru, July 14: No deadline has been finalised or decided fpr submission of applications under the Gruha Jyothi scheme, clarified energy minister K J George.
Answering a query raised by former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy in the Vidhana Sabha earlier this week, he however said applications for availing the facility for July should be submitted by July 26.
The electricity bills will be generated during the first week of August, he said. Adalats will be held in all the electricity offices after two months and all the beneficiaries will be enabled to receive the facility, the minister added.
Various other Jyothi scheme beneficiaries also to be added:
Meanwhile, 40 units of electricity per month will be given free under the Kuteerajyothi and Bhagya Jyothi scheme and 75 units of power will be free per month for the scheduled caste BPL families. They too will be added to the Gruha Jyothi scheme. Therefore 40 lac beneficiaries will be added to the scheme, George said.
"More than one crore people have applied for the scheme within three weeks of its launch. We are stressing on implementing all our five guarantees. Have you ever asked even once if BJP has fulfilled all the assurances made by them?", questioned minister K J George.
