Karkala, Jul 15: In a tragic incident that occurred at Nitte village in the taluk on Friday July 14 evening , a youth, labourer of Bihar origin died as he got electrocuted.
The deceased is identified as Saurav Kumar (20). He had come to Nitte few years ago as a daily wage labourer and was living in a rented room opposite a private college here. Monkey menace was prevalent in the vicinity where he and his friends lived. The monkeys used to take soap, clothes etc from their room and drop it elsewhere.
On Friday, the youths climbed the ladder in order to go to the terrace to find the missing things. The overhead electricity wire touched the ladder and Saurav whose hand was on the ladder got electrocuted.
A case in this connection is registered in Karkala rural police station.
