Mangaluru, Jul 17: Urwa police arrested a man who is accused in the case of sexual harassment of a young girl that occurred nine years ago.
The arrested accused is identified as Syed Hasainar alias Hasain (35), a resident of Kannur Adyar Karmar Juma mosque.
It is alleged that accused Hasain sexually harassed a young girl as she was going towards an apartment at Ladyhill in the city in 2012. The girl had filed a complaint in Urwa police station and the cops arrested the accused. Later, he was released on bail.
After inquiry in the court, the accused was sentenced to four months in prison in August 2014. But the accused absconded and a warrant was issued in his name.
Urwa police were successful in tracing Hasain and arrested him on Saturday.
