"I have 75 MLAs with Me" - Yeddyurappa

Updates at 7.00pm, IST

Bangalore, Jul 29: Further to the ongoing political drama in Karnataka, the senior BJP leaders who were deputed in Bangalore to oversee the current BJP political scenario had to leave Yeddyurappa's residence empty handed after they failed to convince the powerful Lingayat leader B S Yeddyurappa.

It is learnt that Yeddyurappa claimed the support of 75 MLAs, and was in no mood to step down from power. "Please meet my MLAs and gather their opinion. Do not worry about the Lokayukta report," Yeddyurappa is said to have told the leaders.

The BJP high command had given him 12 hours deadline to step down from the CM post, but later, Yeddurappa bought time till July 31, citing astrological reasons. But political sources have learnt that this was not because of an inauspicious time, but was only a plan to buy more time to discuss strategies with his supporters and decide on the next move.

Political experts opine that this is a huge setback for the BJP high command as it could not really command the 'disciplined' soldier of the party, who was responsible in bringing to power BJP's first government in south India.

Currently, Delhi leaders are in a meeting in BJP's Malleshwaram office along with Sadananda Gowda, R Ashok, Eshwarappa, Suresh Kumar and others.

Yeddyurappa Gets Ready for Number Game

Bangalore, Jul 29: Further to daijiworld's noon report, in another dramatic political twist here in the state capital, Karnataka chief minister who had promised earlier to step down from the CM chair, is now getting ready for a show of strength before the BJP high command. The 'number game' drama seems to be beginning in a bid to retain his chair.

About 60 BJP MLAs, 10 MLCs and 14 MPs were present in Yeddyurappa's residence at Race Course Road, shouting slogans in favour of their leader. "We need Yeddyurappa, there cannot be a BJP government in the state without Yeddyurappa. We want Yeddurappa... Jai Yeddyurappa... Bharath Matha ki Jai" resonated from Yeddyurappa supporters.

The high drama continued for at least 20 minutes, and police had tough time controlling the mob.

Earlier, BJP top leaders from New Delhi Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley and Dharmendra Pradhan visited Yeddyurappa's residence to convince him to step down. After about 30 minutes talk, it was reported that the CM was adamant in his demands, and gave some tough time to the BJP high command.

Since he has the support of a majority of MLAs, he argued that he should continue in power and reportedly threatened to dissolve the assembly and seek fresh mandate from the people.

Daijiworld will keep you updated on the latest proceedings.

All CM's meet the same fate. Even if they are not corrupt, fingers are pointed towards them, Our system is like that. Mining in Karnataka is not done in the recent years, but since 1963. Why did the government doesn't know what goes on and what was going on. Remove all the so called Government officers related with forests and mining.

NOW WHO IS THE HIGH COMMAND ? IS IT GADKARI OR YEDDY HIMSELF ? GADKARI HAVE ANY SHAME ? IF YOU CANNOT TACKLE ONE CM THEN YOU ARE NOT FIT TO BE THE BJP PRESIDENT. IF YEDDY DOES NOT AGREE TO STEP DOWN, WHY HE IS NOT GETTING SACKED FOR DISOBEYING THE HIGHCOMMAND ORDERS ? IF LOKAUKTA REPORT HAS NO VALUE, THEN ALL THESE MONTHS WHY THIS DRAMA TOOK PLACE. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN SCRAPPED THAT TIME ITSELF. WHY GADKARI IS NOT READY TO TAKE ACTION EVEN NOW ON YEDDY FOR DISOBEYING HIS ORDERS ? WHAT IS THE INNER STORY ? YEDDY IS DICTATING TERMS TO HIGH COMMAND GADKARI WHAT TO DO ? SHAME ON GADKARI AND OTHER BJP LEADERS IN NATIONAL LEVEL.

It is crystal clear that if by accident Yeddy relinquishes his post then it is certain that Yeddy followed by J.Reddy,Karunakara,Ramulu,Somanna are likely to go to behind the bar!Any less maneuvering with High Command would be suicidal to Yeddy and Gang!On the other hand BJP has lost it's moral right to rule in Karnataka and the recent development in between Yeddy and "NO-COMMAND of BJP is just like LAUGHING STOCK.BJP gone below any other political party's image in India being a national political party and one Yeddy hijacks BJP Party means ........???!!!

All Ministers who are indulged in corruptions and nepotism including CM should be immediately prosecuted with out time waste otherwise there could be misunderstanding system and citizens. Finally BJp showed it's double std and NKAMMATHANA. Any comments from hardcore BJP blind supporters?

How can a corrupt politician continue to rule a state? He should go through the trial in the court of law and should be punished accordingly if found guilty. Once guilty shall be banned for life from running for elections.

Seeing all this drama, i am confused whether BJP is national party or not.Only Nagesh kamath can explain regarding this.
Yadiurappa can be made BJP national president instead of useless Gadkari after his resignation as he only can control Whole BJP party at national level.

It is surprising as to who has come to karnataka to take the resignation of yeddyurappa, is that the central team or football team ? not even a single great leaders of the BJP has got the commanding to command the tainted and corrupt leader of their own party to step down, when the MLA's & MP's are commanding the high command.

The high command of the BJP and other leaders who have come to karnataka should resign for not having the capacity to run the party, when there is no respect for high command, what does it mean ? it clearly shows that yeddyurappa do not need any highcommand or central leaders for karnataks and the way he dictates terms to the high command as if he is supreme.

Had it been congress the leader would have been suspended immediately when refused to obey the high command, no matter how big or senior the leader is.
