Kundapur, Jul 18: In a tragic incident, Peer Nadaf, a resident of Gadag in Mundrangi taluk, was swept away by strong waves while swimming at Maravanthe beach this afternoon. Peer Nadaf was part of a group of three young men who ventured into the waters.

Efforts to locate Peer Nadaf have been underway, with the assistance of local ambulance driver Ibrahim Gangolli and his team, lifeguard diving expert Dinesh Kharvi, the fire brigade, coastal guard staff, and the Gangolli police.

However, due to rough sea conditions, the search operation has been temporarily suspended, and the officials remain stationed at the scene. At present, the mortal remains of Peer Nadaf have not been recovered.
