'I have 75 MLAs, 10 MLCs, and 15 MPs with Me ' - Yeddyurappa

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore

Bangalore, Jul 29: Further to the ongoing political drama in Karnataka, the senior BJP leaders who were deputed in Bangalore to oversee the current BJP political scenario had to leave Yeddyurappa's residence empty handed after they failed to convince the powerful Lingayat leader B S Yeddyurappa.

It is learnt that Yeddyurappa claimed the support of 75 MLAs, 10 MLCs, 15 MPs,  and was in no mood to step down from power. "Please meet my MLAs and gather their opinion. Do not worry about the Lokayukta report," Yeddyurappa is said to have told the leaders.

The BJP high command had given him 12 hours deadline to step down from the CM post, but later, Yeddurappa bought time till July 31, citing astrological reasons. But political sources have learnt that this was not because of an inauspicious time, but was only a plan to buy more time to discuss strategies with his supporters and decide on the next move.

Political experts opine that this is a huge setback for the BJP high command as it could not really command the 'disciplined' soldier of the party, who was responsible in bringing to power BJP's first government in south India.

Currently, Delhi leaders are in a meeting in BJP's Malleshwaram office along with Sadananda Gowda, R Ashok, Eshwarappa, Suresh Kumar and others.

Does having 75 MLAs, 10 MLCs and 15 MPs entitle one to loot the state, destroy the environment by overlooking rape of it by illegal mining, overlook alteration of state boundaries, overlook destruction of forest land and mining on forest land ? These are questions for the BJP high command - specially the loh purush to answer.
