Mangaluru, Jul 22: Urwa police station personnel arrested two people in connection with the moral policing assault case that occurred on Friday in the city.
The arrested accused are identified as Deekshit alias Deekshit Alape (32), a resident of Alape Mata vicinity and Lloyd Pinto (32), a resident of Param Jyoti Bhajana Mandir, Alape, Bajal.
Police confiscated a scooter and mobile phones of the accused. The accused will be produced in the court.
It may be recalled that the accused assaulted a medical student near Bejai Kapikad seventh cross when he was returning back after visiting Panambur beach along with his classmates.

Mangaluru, Jul 22: A case of moral policing was reported from the city on Friday July 21. A gang of youths assaulted the student of a private medical college in the city.
The gang followed the students of the college who had been to Panambur beach together. The students are pursuing hospital management course at the private medical college.
Six girls and boys of the college had gone to the beach. Four girls belonged to different community than that of the two boys who accompanied them.

The gang of vigilantes followed the boys on motorcycles from the beach and assaulted Mohammed Hafeez (20) near Bejai-Kapikad.
An injured Hafeez filed complaint with Urwa police station.
