Hubballi, Jul 22: Union minister Shobha Karandlaje said that the former governments that ruled Manipur are responsible for the violence that is going on in the north Indian state since three months.
Speaking to reporters in the city, Shobha said, “Immigrants in large numbers are accumulated in the north eastern states of India. The union government is doing the work of sending them back. The earlier government of the UPA and Congress had neglected all the states of the north east. People of north east were not accepting that they were Indians. Now all of them are saying that India is their country. They are enjoying the benefits of the union government schemes for the first time.
“That is why people arrive in Manipur to conduct anti-national activities. Peace should prevail in all states of the north east. They should be an integral part of India. All facilities of the state and central government should be made available to them.
“Instead of discussing the Manipur issue in the parliament, the Congress and other political parties are discussing the issue elsewhere. The Indian government is ready to answer any question. The matter of parading women naked at Malda in West Bengal is coming to light now. Killing politics is taking place in West Bengal. The work of projecting the union government in bad light is in progress,” she said.
